Dixie Chicks: They’re Back

The Dixie Chicks are finally back and ready to get out on the road again. With the release of their 2016 tour dates, I know that i’ll be sure to get a ticket when they come to Canada. Natalie Maines, Emilie Robison Strayer and Martie Maguire are reuniting for their 2016 European Tour, and I couldn’t be more excited.

Even though their history contains adversities of political controversy, their music stayed pure. To this day they remain one of the most influential girl groups in the world of Country Music. It seems as though every single Dixie Chicks song has been one of their greatest hits. They never fail to impress the audience with their motivational lyrics of wisdom. They are all so musically talented, especially when it comes to the twangy sounds of the banjo in their music.

This group has such important history in the bluegrass roots of the world today. I will never forget the stories my Mama has told me about her first Dixie Chicks concert and I hope I get the pleasure to see them perform next year. Although I absolutely love each and every one of their songs, a few remain some of my absolute favourite songs.

If I were you, I would go check out the Dixie Chicks 2016 tour dates immediately before you miss out on the chance of a lifetime. In the mean time, let’s all refresh our memories of the inspirational music the Dixie Chicks have made together throughout the years.

New Voice of Country: Chris Stapleton & Justin Timberlake

Well y’all, look’s like we’ve got new Country Music stars on our hands. I always knew Chris Stapleton had a unique outlaw sound, but he blew us all away at the 2015 CMA Award’s during his performance with Justin Timberlake.

These two combined the sounds of Country, Southern Rock, Pop, and Blues all in one performance. Luckily, they created a show that made the entire audience smile and dance along as we listened. Stapleton no doubt stole the show that night, and shocked the audience with their impressive bluegrass vocals.

The honkytonk sound of Chris Stapleton is what will continue to influence many other Country Music artist’s in the world. He makes it look so easy. The bluegrass performer is a flash back to the past as he reminds us of the sound’s of Merle Haggard and Vince Gill, which we definitely need more of. He’s a refreshing voice that adds to our genre of country and bluegrass.

Stapleton’s release of his new album, Traveller, has already changed the world of Country Music. With its recent release in May 2015, it was named Album of the Year at the Country Music Association Award’s and has reached number one on the Billboard chart’s. He also managed to pull off the win for New Artist of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year. If you asked me, I’d say that’s pretty impressive since the album was released this year. He has had no trouble fitting in with the Country Music scene, and i’m looking forward to more of his performances as he continues to be recognized for his accomplishments.

Look out Nashville, this Kentucky born outlaw will soon take over the Country Music charts.
